How to read the work penalty of a book or item
- Put the book (or item) alone in the left slot of the anvil.
- Change one letter of its name.
- Read the level cost shown below, then take the book back out without taking the result.
- Type that number in the "Rename cost" field: the site works out the penalty for you.
A rename costs 1 level plus the penalty. Freshly found or traded books cost 1.
